Shopping for the Curvy Bride

It is no secret that sometimes it can be intimidating when you’re going wedding gown shopping for the first time. Especially since the dresses you will be trying on are standard sample size. If you are a full figure curvy bride, it is important to work with stylists who understand and will listen to what you are comfortable with. So many brides come in thinking that some specific styles won’t look good on their body type, but what is important is that you feel confident and beautiful. Embrace your curves! With the proper fit and support, any style will look amazing. Whether you feel more comfortable in an flowy A-line, or a figure hugging mermaid, your confidence will shine through. Every bride has their own personal insecurities, and we are here to help you find a gown that you will be comfortable and confident in. If you are more busty, you understand that proper support is key. It is more common to do this with a strap to hold the girls up, or if it is a strapless, ideally you will want one with a great built in corset and boning. Many brides go into gown shopping thinking they don’t want a strapless, because of their bad reputation of not being very supportive. When it comes to wedding gowns however, that is a myth. Some of the most supportive gowns happen to be strapless because of their great built in corset. In store, we have around 40 styles ranging from size 14-28 permanantly in our collection. Our biggest advice for curvy brides who are shopping for the first time, is to go into it with an open mind. You don’t fully know how a style is going to look unless you try it on. You might be pleasantly surprised! What is the most important, is that you feel good, confident, and beautiful in the dress that you are going to wear for what is one of the best days of your life.
